“Megan slipped into my classroom just as the bell rang to close out the first day back to school. “Hey!” she shouted. My body flew toward her, and I embraced her in a hug. “Hi. I feel like I haven’t seen you in months.” Her light giggle tickled my ear. “It’s only been a few days, but I’m sure they’ve been long days, considering.” She was absolutely right.
