I've finally figured out this series (about 10 books in). Card writes great first novels (Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Earth Unaware), but the sequels tend to drop in quality (the one exception being Speaker for the Dead). Most of the various sequels problems relate to Card's over simplification of global politics, as well as making the child characters in each book act like Ender in terms of intelligence. I didn't like this book ending on a Cliffhanger, and the solution employe
...d in China seems laughable that the Chinese didn't come up with it. Still I like the world it takes place in, so I'll give it a three.

We left off at a chapter break, not a book break. Card is a genius writer, but let's get something out in the open here: he likes to kill of characters (a whole slew of them), and he should be writing one large book, not three. As a result, I don't much remember where the last one left off and this one began.Victor makes it to the moon, but no one takes him seriously--in fact, very much the opposite. He's placed in a hospital and has to deal with a woman who was recently demoted as his only liaison. The two of them try to get their story out via the 'nets, but it's not taken seriously by any authority.Bingwen sees the truth in the vids, but no one but his friends take *him* seriously, because he's just a young boy.And Mazer Rackham is out training with the MOPS and for some reason ends up in China, while Lem Jukes and his dad are going at it out in space. And then the ship hits Earth's orbit and sends down three landers in China.Bingwen's village is destroyed and the Chinese government will do nothing about it...but Mazer will, and soon, so will the rest of the MOPS. They've been working with some tech that could be helpful; same with the Jukes enterprises. And same with Victor. But will anything work? I don't know, because that's where the book ended...
